Spirit and Life Ministries is a fast-growing church located in the San Fernando Valley, just minutes north of Los Angeles. We are a friendly ministry composed of Christians of all ages and cultures. Our pastor, Elder Stephen Hamilton, preaches the Word of God with power and truth.
Church Origin
It all began as a prayer meeting in Mother Ann Higgins' home over 50 years ago. Over time, the Apostolic Faith Home Assembly was born under Assistant Pastor Elder Clelland. In 1958, the name changed to El Bethel Apostolic Church with originating members Mother Ann Higgins, Sister Arlene Crenshaw, Deacon Crenshaw, Mother Ruby Hamilton, and Deacon Hamilton leading souls to Christ.
In June 1999, El Bethel Apostolic Church moved to San Fernando as Spirit and Life Ministries under the leadership of Elder Stephen Hamilton. Spirit and Life has grown to touch thousands of lives each year by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. A sister church to City of Refuge in Los Angeles (Bishop Noel Jones) and Mountain Top Faith Ministry in Las Vegas (Bishop Clinton House), Spirit and Life is associated with some of the most powerful churches on the west coast.
About the Pastor
Born in 1963, baptized in 1969, and filled with the Holy Ghost at the ripe young age of 11, Pastor Hamilton not only comes from a family dedicated to worshiping the Lord, he has dedicated his life to it. Pastor Hamilton began attending Aenon bible college in 1987, was ordained in 1990, began preaching in 1991, and became a Pastor in 1994.
Calling the San Fernando Valley his home, Pastor Hamilton is a frequent guest preacher/teacher/speaker at churches across the country, as well as in the media with appearances on BET (Black Entertainment Television) among others.
In 2010, Pastor Hamilton will celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary with his beautiful wife First Lady Carla Hamilton. They are also the proud parents of two children.
